WBL services its loan portfolio and loan portfolios for third parties, specializing in the management of non-performing loan pools and REO. Overview The Asset Resolution Counsel is responsible for leading the legal strategy, portfolio management, and resolution efforts for a portfolio of non-performing commercial loans secured primarily by real estate. This role serves as a strategic business partner responsible for maximizing recoveries while minimizing legal risk, loss severity, and resolution timelines. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, loan servicing teams, and borrowers, the Asset Resolution Counsel develops and executes resolution strategies through negotiation, restructuring, litigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, receivership, REO disposition, and other loss mitigation initiatives. This position requires sound legal judgment, strong financial and analytical skills, and the ability to balance business objectives with legal and regulatory compliance.
