Linux Engineer I

Overview The Linux Engineer I will be part of a Linux OS team in the 24x7 operational support of TierPoint managed services customers. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge in Linux operating systems. The candidate must also have outstanding customer service skills, and the ability to translate technical issues into common language. The Linux Engineer reports to the Manager OS Managed Services. Responsibilities Provides quality internal and external customer service surrounding the Company values. Manage the flow of incoming customer requests to maintain Customer Request Fulfillment process expectations Communicate expectations, assignments and responsibilities clearly and professionally. Participate in an on-call escalation support rotation to ensure 24x7x365 coverage for critical infrastructure and customer systems. Plan, install, and provide daily operational support for managed customer Linux environments Ensure timely resolution of high severity incidents, including communications, reporting, and tracking of follow-ups. Follows technical documentation for customer environments, processes, standards, and support procedures. Collaborate closely with other operations teams and architecture to efficiently resolve service incidents; ensuring service availability levels are met.
