Position Title Accountant Senior - GrantsDays - Full TimeRemote Position Summary / Career Interest: This position serves as the Senior Accountant supporting the Health System Finance Director. Is responsible for the accurate general ledger activity associated with grants, related reporting, and reconciliations. Ensures compliance with grant terms and conditions, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), sponsor regulations, and internal company policies and procedures. Supports and adheres to The University of Kansas Health System 's Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Demonstrates competence in the areas of critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and technical skills with specialized expertise in grants and sponsored-program accounting. Manages assigned grants and financial responsibilities in a way that supports the achievement of unit/team goals and sponsor requirements. Skillfully administers, directs and allocates all organizational resources related to grant funding, using appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to develop strong partnerships with program leaders and grant stakeholders. Identifies areas for improvement and proactively addresses problems within scope of responsibility, while escalating issues to leadership as needed, particularly related to compliance, reporting, or financial risk on grants.
