Job Description Using professional coding training, critical thinking, and clinical acumen, accurately assigns ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes to conditions and procedures documented within the inpatient electronic medical record. Applies Official Coding Guidelines, CMS regulations/guidelines, and other coding standards and guidelines established for use with the ICD-10 standard code set. Responsible to maintain quality and productivity standards and guidelines as set by the organization. Remains up-to-date on ICD-10-CM and PCS coding principles, governmental regulations, official coding guidelines and third-party payer requirements as they relate to compliant documentation, billing and coding practices.
