About the Role
Role Summary As a Civil Design Engineer II/III - Hydraulics & Hydrology, you will model the hydrology and hydraulics of utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage sites and design the drainage that makes them buildable. H&H analysis shows where water goes on a site and shapes how the project is laid out, permitted, and constructed. Working with guidance from senior engineers, you will turn terrain, rainfall, and soils data into hydrologic and hydraulic models, drainage designs, and reports using tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D, and coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, and environmental colleagues to deliver projects that bring more renewable generation onto the grid. As an employee-owner, you will share in the results of the work and help build a team where careful, well-documented engineering earns the trust of clients and colleagues. Duties & Responsibilities Core Technical & Functional Responsibilities Build hydrologic and hydraulic models in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, or similar tools to evaluate existing and proposed drainage conditions on utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage sites. Run 1D and 2D floodplain and flood-depth analyses in HEC-RAS 2D, FLO-2D, or similar software to inform array layout, equipment elevations, and setbacks. Calculate runoff, peak flows, and detention or retention requirements, and size culverts, channels, ponds, and other conveyance and storage features. Design site drainage, gra
