AI Software Engineer

Overview Quest Software is seeking an AI Software Engineer to help define and advance AI-first software development practices for a cloud-native SaaS product on the Microsoft Azure platform. This role is intended for an experienced developer who combines strong C#/.NET, Azure, cloud architecture, and backend engineering skills with proven hands-on experience using AI coding agents, AI-assisted development platforms, and agentic development workflows in production software engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute directly to the product codebase while also helping the team adopt AI coding approaches that improve development speed, code quality, test coverage, refactoring and troubleshooting. We are looking for someone who has used AI coding agents in real software development work and can translate that experience into repeatable practices. Responsibilities Contribute to the adoption of AI-first software development practices across the project team. Use AI coding agents and AI-assisted development platforms extensively in day-to-day product engineering, including solution design, implementation, automated testing, debugging, troubleshooting, refactoring, code reviews, and technical documentation. Design reusable prompts, agent instructions, development workflows, validation steps, and guardrails that enable consistent and responsible AI-assisted software development.
