As a Senior Database Administrator, you will take responsibility for the planning, operation, and further development of our database landscape, focusing on PostgreSQL and Oracle. You will ensure high performance, availability, security, and extensive automation—regardless of whether the systems run on-premises, in the cloud, or in hybrid environments. Working proactively and solution-oriented, you will coordinate closely with development, operations, and business departments to ensure smooth and stable database operations. Here is what your typical workday looks like: Administration, configuration, and upgrades of PostgreSQL and Oracle databases including backup & recovery. Performance analysis and optimization (e.g., execution plans, indexing, bloat & lock management, wait events). Setup and operation of high-availability and replication solutions (PostgreSQL: Streaming Replication/Patroni; Oracle: Data Guard/HAS). Patching, security measures (e.g., TDE, hardening, auditing).
