This role offers a unique opportunity for a legal expert in adult social care to handle a diverse and challenging caseload, deliver specialized legal counsel on a wide array of adult social care issues, and contribute to the provision of top-tier legal services. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Adult Social Care teams, senior officials, and various stakeholders, offering guidance on statutory duties, Court of Protection cases, safeguarding, and mental health laws. Key Responsibilities Oversee a complex caseload related to Adult Social Care. Offer legal counsel on: Care Act 2014 Mental Capacity Act 2005 Mental Health Act 1983 Health and Social Care Act 2008 Provide advice on: Ordinary Residence Safeguarding Provider Failure Section 117 Aftercare Community Care Responsibilities Prepare and file applications to: Court of Protection High Court Handle cases involving: Deputyship Applications Welfare and Best Interests Applications Deprivation of Liberty Matters Section 21A Challenges Judicial Reviews Inherent Juris
