Accounting Manager — AI & Automation

Are you an accounting leader who is obsessed with AI? We're looking for an experienced accountant who believes AI is going to fundamentally change how accounting gets done — and wants to be at the forefront of that transformation. Arboreal manages more than 10,000 apartments, and we've built our own property-management software platform, Maynard, with extensive APIs and MCP tools that let AI agents work directly in our accounting systems. This role is your chance to prove how much more a great accountant can accomplish when the manual work is handed to AI and the judgment stays with you. The Role This is a new kind of accounting role, built for how Arboreal intends to run its accounting function going forward. Rather than managing a team of people, the Accounting Manager oversees the accounting for a book of work primarily through AI agents operating on Maynard in conjunction with AppFolio. The focus is judgment and review: directing and supervising automated workflows, tackling complex reconciliations and investigations with AI, preparing and reviewing journal entries, validating what the agents produce, and standing behind the accuracy of the financials. You'll be one of four Accounting Managers who work side by side to make sure financials go out on time and accurately and that balances are reconciled across the portfolio.
