The founder has reached the point most agency founders reach eventually. Their days are full of client emails, chasing the team, managing delivery risk and keeping projects from slipping. None of it is optional and all of it is in their head. The problem is not only the hours it eats. It is that managing risk and creating growth are opposite modes of thinking, and they cannot do both well in the same week. They're hiring the person who takes operations off them.
