Accounting Analyst

We are hiring an Accounting Analyst to join the Incentives, Benefits & Reconciliation Accounting department at BCBST! In this role, you will support employee and retiree benefit accounting, prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, and perform variance analysis. You’ll work with large datasets to identify variances and trends while helping ensure accurate and reliable financial information. To be successful in this role, in addition to the core job requirements, you’ll bring strong Excel skills, attention to detail, organization, and a proactive approach to learning. You will be a strong candidate if you have experience with employee benefit accounting and exposure to AI-enabled tools. Note: This is a fully remote position; however, occasional travel to Chattanooga for events will be requested. Preference will be given to candidates within a 50-mile radius of Chattanooga. Sponsorship is not available for this position. Job Responsibilities Designing, developing and preparing accurate and timely financial statements, reporting and analysis. Identifying and researching trends and developments. Leading special projects and ad-hoc reporting requests. Collaborating with others identifying process improvements. Job Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience is required. Equivalent work experience would be 4 years of experience in related field. Experience 3 years - Work experience in an accounting/financial posit
