*** This position is contingent upon contract award *** SOSi is seeking a Data Governance & Metadata Scientist to support mission requirements for a structured approach to further develop, integrate, and sustain a scalable, federated data ecosystem that enhances interoperability, governance, and mission-driven analytics for a DoD customer. The primary objective of the program is to bridge the operational gaps between DoD, IC, interagency, and non-traditional international partners to enable real-time information sharing, dynamic data integration, and mission-tailored analytical capabilities. Essential Job Duties: The contractor shall establish and maintain metadata governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with DoD data management policies and interoperability with Data Catalog. The contractor shall develop automated metadata tagging processes to improve data discoverability, classification, and lineage tracking within the Common Intelligence Picture (CIP) platform. The contractor shall implement and manage data governance workflows, ensuring integration with OpenLineage, Unity Catalog, and GIS metadata standards. The contractor shall submit the Metadata & Data Governance Compliance Report, detailing lineage tracking, classification policies, and security enhancements. Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Management, GIS, or a related field, or five (5) years of equivalent experience in data governance, metadata management, or geospatial data integration.
