About the Role
Position Overview: The Software Test Engineer (Mid-Level) is responsible for the overall quality of the Simr Platform, a web application that lets engineers run and manage their simulation workflows in the cloud. The platform has two main areas: the HPC side, where users run batch jobs and work in interactive sessions on HPC clusters, and the data side, where simulation results are ingested, processed, stored and made available for search, analysis and reporting through DataStudio, APIs and Jupyter notebooks. While the role covers the platform as a whole, its main focus is the data side. The engineer is expected to understand the data workflows in depth, from simulation output files to queryable tables and reports, and to own their test planning, manual and automated testing, and data validation. Working closely with backend, data and frontend engineers, the engineer catches issues early and makes sure data features are released with confidence. The ideal candidate works independently on medium-complexity tasks, is comfortable with SQL and Python, and enjoys understanding how data moves through a modern, cloud-based system. Responsibilities: Plan, design and execute test cases for the Simr Platform, with a focus on data ingestion, processing, storage and reporting features. Validate data end to end, from source files to what users see in the UI, APIs and reports, checking accuracy, completeness and consistency. Test core HPC workflows of the platform, such as batch job submis
