Software Architect / System Designer (100% Remote / German-Speaking)

Fluent German is required for this role. Our customers are property management companies in Germany. We are seeking an experienced Software Architect / Full-Stack Developer who thinks like a Systems Designer – someone who reaches for schema diagrams and load assumptions before reaching for code. You will join our fully remote team. If you like complexity, enjoy reasoning about data, scale, and reliability, want to implement AI solutions, and enjoy working with Claude, this could be the right role for you. What you will do: Own the system design – you decide how data is modeled, where state lives, how components talk to each other, and how the whole system behaves under load. You stay responsible for it once it is live. Make the hard, hard-to-reverse design decisions early – and reason explicitly about the trade-offs behind them. Design and own our data layer from the ground up for new features – tables and relationships, indexing strategy, and query/load optimization that holds up as data and traffic grow. Design queues, background jobs, and long-running workflows that stay correct and reliable under heavy load and partial failure. Talk to customers to understand how they actually use the product, and bring that into architecture decisions, the direction of our stack, and the overall product vision.
