Contractor - Mechanical Engineer (Plant Systems)

NOTE: This is a 40 hour/week contract position expected to last through 2027. Work may be performed remotely within the contiguous United States, with travel as needed for business needs. POSITION SUMMARY: Plant Systems Engineering team focuses on the design and integration of the Balance of Site (BOS) systems in the power plant utilizing NuScale SMRs. Mechanical Engineer in Plant Systems Engineering developsdesign requirements for the BOS mechanical systems andprovides oversight and technical support to NuScale’s design partners in developing the system designs for projects. The engineer will work closely with multi‑discipline teams (both internal and external) to resolve design challenges, plans and execute work to support project scope. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports the development of design requirements and the integration of BOS system designs into the overall plant architecture Provides technical oversight and support to NuScale’s design partners in developing the BOS system designs for projects. Prepares and reviews technical documents as required to support project work. Plans, organizes, and performs complex assignments in a team environment. Engages and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to promote effective coordination of design activities and resolution of technical problems. Performs other duties as assigned.
