Intermodal Operations Manager

Overview The Intermodal Operations Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day management of the Intermodal Operations team. This is accomplished by effectively responding to the needs of the operations team, the Intermodal customer base, and NFI suppliers. This position reports to the Regional Vice President of Operations. Responsibilities ➢ Lead the Intermodal operations team by living the values of NFI and through continuous coaching and development ➢ Skillfully negotiate rates and services with clients for Intermodal and FTL services ➢ Support dedicated sales resources that are trying to advance the interests of the Intermodal business line ➢ Develop, implement, and manage an SOP for each account managed by the operations group and maintain a level of service that is consistent with the terms of sale ➢ Work directly with capacity group to ensure proper coverage of committed freight by the capacity group ➢ Collaborate with Intermodal Pricing department, NFI Suppliers, as well use of market based indices for pricing short-term spot market, and long-term contractual rates for existing clients ➢ Respond to sales inquiries and work with Intermodal Pricing to provide pricing on transactional business as well as pricing proposals where applicable ➢ Ensuring proper follow up and management of all customer shipments ➢ Breaking through internal obstacles that limit growth/service consistent with NFI deliverables ➢ A sales/growth oriented mindset to enable organic growth from
