Temporary Payroll Specialist II

Compensation Range: Hourly: $25.00 - $25.00 Position Summary Under direct supervision, process and audit accurate and timely payroll for multiple pay groups according to National University policies as well as local, state and federal guidelines to ensure an accurate payroll. Maintains accurate payroll records in order to deliver accurate and on-time pay to employees ultimately impacting customer satisfaction and profitability. May evaluate and recommend changes to policies and procedures to streamline processes and enhance automation. Essential Functions: Answers employee and management questions regarding paychecks and other payroll related matters (emails, and phone calls). Responds to telephone or written inquiries from staff and faculty about payroll related questions. Audits all payroll reports for each pay group to ensure an accurate and timely payroll. Audit prepared on demand checks including lost checks, separations, retro compensation changes, retro timesheet corrections prior to settlement. Maintains accurate records of exception checks issued within the department and designated pay group. Performs retroactive compensation changes. Ensures garnishments are administered correctly. Ensures direct deposit returns and garnishment refunds are processed correctly. Corresponds with managers and HR regarding separation check timelines and delivery process.
