About the Role
The Manager, Drug User Health, plays a vital role in expanding the organization’s capacity to address the impacts of the intersecting crises of drug use, HIV/AIDS, and viral hepatitis in community and public health settings, particularly within state and local health departments and Syringe Services Programs (SSPs). This role will primarily work on identifying, interpreting, and communicating information about the illicit drug supply to inform overdose prevention and response strategies and public health communications across the country. Professional and/or volunteer experience in relevant harm reduction service planning and provision (for example, syringe services programs, community-based drug checking services, overdose prevention sites, or other direct service settings) is required. Familiarity with federal overdose prevention and response funding and policy landscapes and public health communications strategies is strongly preferred. Candidates with experience in training, facilitation, and/or product creation for a variety of audiences related to overdose prevention and response—including naloxone access, MOUD provision as overdose prevention, post-overdose response strategies, or related topics—are encouraged to apply. The Manager’s core activities will advance NASTAD ’s efforts to support and strengthen community-based drug user health programs by providing direct funding grants, technical assistance (TA), and training on topics such as effective drug user health str
