Program Manager, Research

The Program Manager, Research is responsible for coordinating the research of a small team of brilliant research scientists at FutureSearch . Research at FutureSearch is on the frontier of the fastest moving technology in human history. We learn new things every day, and we adjust our research strategy on that cadence. But world-class research requires deep strategic foresight and persistence. We also regularly have ambitious external deadlines we must meet, with many tradeoffs in what makes the research valuable. And brilliant researchers have strong opinions - as the saying goes, if you ask 3 researchers a question, you'll get 4 opinions. Balancing these factors is an enormous challenge. This Program Manager, Research must rapidly make excellent judgment calls balancing these constraints. These judgment calls - to start up a new direction, to wind down an existing direction, to change the nature of a deliverable - are high stakes and will require adroit negotiation with stakeholders. The Program Manager, Research works closely with the VP of Engineering, VP of Research, and the CEO.
