Solutions & Communications Architect (Fractional Contract)

This is a remote position. Job Description We're building a secure, unified way for our team and systems to communicate with our central "Mission Control" — starting with email, and expanding over time to web, mobile, voice, and messaging. We need a senior architect to lead this. The first month is a fast-paced, full-time build to get a secure, working pilot live. After that, the role shifts to a lighter, ongoing part-time role (about 8 hours a week) to maintain and grow what you built. You'll move quickly, but never at the expense of security or approvals. If something's not safe or well understood, you're expected to pause and flag it — not just push through. What You'll Own Understand the problem deeply before you start building Design the full system — how people and data are verified, protected, connected, and tracked Build in approval checkpoints so nothing sensitive goes out without human sign-off Launch a working pilot with monitoring, backup plans, and real proof that it works Review your team's work and stop or redirect anything unsafe or incomplete Document your decisions, the risks involved, and what should happen next Requirements What We're Looking For Senior-level experience in solution, enterprise, integration, platform, or security architecture A track record building AI-enabled workflows, case/work-management systems, or automated systems with audit trails Solid knowledge of identity/access management, data protection, and least-privilege design Experience b
