Freelance Legal & Compliance Specialist

As a Freelance Legal & Compliance Specialist, you are a key partner for the organization, ensuring that our operations comply with all relevant laws and regulations, internal guidelines, and ethical standards. You combine strategic legal advice with a hands-on approach, actively contributing to a strong, reliable, and compliant organization, with a focus on our Belgian operations. What will you do? You advise management and operational teams on legal issues and identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks. You manage the full contract lifecycle, from drafting and reviewing to negotiating and following up on commercial contracts. You monitor compliance regarding GDPR, anti-corruption, fraud prevention, competition law, and other relevant regulations, with a focus on Belgian operations. You monitor laws and regulations, translate changes into concrete actions, and raise awareness through clear communication and training. You support Corporate Governance and ensure correct follow-up of statutory and corporate legal obligations and documentation. You strengthen internal controls and policy frameworks, collaborating with Finance, Audit, and other teams to properly manage legal risks. You are a connecting and proactive partner for internal and external stakeholders, continuously looking for ways to make legal and compliance processes smarter and more efficient.
