Captive Accounting Manager

As an Accounting Manager, you will manage the day-to-day management of an increasingly complex portfolio of captive insurance clients, including risk retention groups, insurance reciprocal exchanges and/or other complex structures, the number of which varies depending on complexity of the accounts. You will act as the focal contact person with senior management and our clients, with an opportunity to develop strategic and consulting skills. The Accounting Manager will demonstrate ability to work independently, present financial statements at board meetings, serve as a mentor and resource to staff, as well as ability to train and lead other members of the team. While this is a remote role, the candidate must be based in Vermont per State requirement. Key Responsibilities Provide advice on compliance requirements, investment regulations and current accounting developments that affect clients Give presentations at client, shareholder, and/or Board of Director meetings to review financial information. Prepare and/or review monthly financial statement package and management review for a group of captive clients, in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, SAP and modified GAAP Perform all accounting necessary for maintaining captive clients, including preparing and/or reviewing all general ledgers, reconciliation and customized financial and managerial reports.
