AVP, Transportation Broker

The Role The AVP – Transportation Broker is a producer role on the Breakwater Markets team, a Cover Whale sister company that specializes in commercial auto and trucking placement through retail agents. This person builds and grows the retail agent channel, including Cover Whale 's existing agency partners, drives quoted premiums, and brings deep market knowledge to place each submission with the right market. The AVP reports to the Senior Vice President, works closely with the Executive Vice President, and helps shape the Agency Management System, service standards and renewal process as the team scales. Responsibilities: Retail Agent Development — Cultivate existing and new retail agent relationships and build relationships with Cover Whale 's existing retail agency partners (the One Door Concept); contribute to the team goal of onboarding testing agents and retail agents against the targets set in the quarterly scorecard. Production — Quote new business to contribute to the Breakwater team goal for GWP quoted and meet the individual GWP quoted targets set in the quarterly scorecard. Market Expertise — Become an expert in current market guidelines and appetite within two weeks of hire, and use that knowledge to place each submission with the right market. Market Development — Refer existing market relationships to the EVP and SVP for vetting on an ongoing basis, with the goal of filling gaps in Breakwater's market and product offerings; meet the market referral targets set
