AI Engineer - Remote

AI Engineer to build Periskope’s AI-native product and engineering harness. This is a hands-on IC role for a software engineer who is strong with cloud, modern AI tooling, and shipping AI-powered products. Company Details Periskope is a WhatsApp operations platform used by 5,000+ businesses across 50+ countries. It combines shared inboxes, workflows, integrations, automation, and AI agents for sales, support, and operations. Website: Requirements 2–4 years of experience in software engineering Currently working at a product-based startup or scale-up Strong software engineering fundamentals with an AI-native mindset Proven experience building and shipping products/features on top of AI/LLMs Strong hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and cloud-native development Comfortable building production systems end-to-end with high ownership Experience with LLM APIs, agents, RAG, tool calling, MCP, or similar AI application patterns Strong coding skills in one or more modern programming languages Ability to work as a hands-on individual contributor in a small engineering team Strong proof of work: shipped AI projects, GitHub repositories, products, demos, or other tangible work Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast-moving startup environment Responsibilities Build and evolve Periskope’s AI engineering harness and core AI capabilities Build production-grade AI features on top of foundation models Develop AI agents, tools, workflows
