How You Will Contribute Develop and implement semiconductor commodity strategies to ensure the utilization of best-in-class semiconductor products and suppliers, focusing on Technology, Quality, Supply, and Cost. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align commodity strategies with Ciena ’s overall goals and objectives. Monitor semiconductor component market trends, including technology developments, product costs, supply conditions, and competitive supplier landscapes, to create strategies that leverage market dynamics. Partner with R&D teams to onboard new products and suppliers that align with commodity strategies and support innovation. Lead negotiations to optimize total cost of ownership for semiconductor components throughout their product lifecycle. Resolve critical supply shortages by actively engaging with suppliers and EMS partners to ensure supply continuity. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks associated with semiconductor components, ensuring availability over the product lifecycle.
