Senior Python Software Engineer (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities: Checkmk helps IT teams monitor their entire infrastructure—from servers and networks to cloud and containers. Here, a feature doesn't end at the screen. People work with our product via the user interface and APIs, and AI assistants are quickly becoming just as important. If you enjoy thinking through a feature from the API across the screen to what an agent can do with it, this role is right for you. As a Senior Python Software Engineer (m/w/d) in one of our development teams, you will build product features and help shape where Checkmk goes next. What your journey with us could look like: Product features: Accompany features from idea to release via a Python backend with its APIs and a Vue.js/TypeScript frontend, and define their scope together with product management. AI, in the product and in your workflow: Help shape what our AI assistant can do for people running complex IT environments, evolving it into something they can rely on. AI tools like Claude Code are already part of our software development, and you will help decide how we use them. Architecture evolution: A product that has grown over many years comes with decisions that made sense back then. Help refactor large parts of the codebase where the product needs it, and plan changes accordingly.
