Senior Backend Software Engineer

We are looking for a senior backend software engineer to build and evolve the digital solutions for the Sabesp project at Bemobi Wave. The project combines delivery fronts and live systems, including totems, mobile applications, a virtual web agency, backend microservices, and conversational services powered by LLMs. The position combines hands-on execution with day-to-day technical leadership. The expectation is that you will help the team move forward with autonomy, drive technical refinements and planning, unblock decisions, and maintain momentum when the tech lead cannot be closely involved. The expected breakdown is approximately 70% execution and 30% supporting technical refinements and planning. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working with Product and Engineering and supporting the development of professionals across different seniority levels. The position does not involve formal people management. Incident response coordination is part of the job, but without an on-call rotation, which is handled by the Tech Ops team. What you will be responsible for: Developing, testing, instrumenting, documenting, and maintaining backend microservices and APIs. Participating in architecture and system design decisions, evaluating alternatives and explaining trade-offs. Leading or supporting technical refinements and planning, identifying dependencies, risks, and implementation paths. Helping break down initiatives into smaller deliverables and tracking their execution. Unblocking technical decisions and aligning risks.
