Correspondent - Marketplace

Position Summary: Marketplace is looking for a correspondent. The ideal candidate has proven audio and video reporting abilities, and a passion for covering business and financial news in Marketplace’s explanatory and accessible style. Marketplace is focused on engaging communities directly to create content that always informs, includes, and inspires. We achieve this by building trust and connection through journalism that is audience-centered, distinctive, useful, and emotionally resonant. This means: Developing a truly audience-first approach to reporting and production Producing work that succeeds across platforms and formats Increasing our video and visual storytelling capabilities Collaborating more effectively across shows, platforms, and teams Prioritizing journalism that is immersive, memorable, and worth people’s time A correspondent will cover daily stories and features on subjects from corporate news to consumer behavior, housing to the changing workforce, macroeconomic trends to financial markets. This position sits in the collective bargaining agreement between MPR and Screen Actors Guild—American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (“SAG-AFTRA”). Expected Compensation Range: $106,371 - $127,645 per year. The exact salary rate is determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, and internal equity.
