About the Role

What is it? It is a developing professional specialized in the design, development, and support of the release of electrical wiring harnesses (wire assemblies, connectors, and components) primarily for low-voltage (LV) systems, though they may have limited exposure to high-voltage (HV) in supervised environments. Their work helps ensure that electrical systems are safe, efficient, and compliant with manufacturing and quality requirements, under the guidance of a senior engineer or technical lead. How do they do it? They use tools like Siemens Capital Essentials (with supervision) to create 2D manufacturing drawings, wire lists, and connector definitions, based on CATIA 3D data provided by senior teams. They collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure designs meet standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620 (basic) and USCAR-21/USCAR-2 (with support). They assist in resolving technical issues during harness installation and debugging, always with supervision in complex cases. They participate in APQP and PPAP processes (in supporting roles), as well as in the management of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) under the direction of a lead. Why is it important? The work of the IE2 in Electrical Harnesses is key to: Supporting technical integration between electrical and mechanical components in supervised projects. Contributing to minimizing the risk of electrical failures in production by following established processes. Optimizing manufacturability.
