About the Role
AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Inside Plant (ISP) Fiber Optic Engineer to support the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of fiber optic pathway and passive connectivity infrastructure for high-tech, mission-critical, and technology-intensive clients and facilities . This position is focused on the physical infrastructure that enables reliable, scalable, and resilient fiber connectivity within buildings and across complex campuses. The role will support the design and coordination of inside plant pathways, fiber optic cabling, telecommunications spaces, racks and cabinets, fiber distribution and termination systems, and the critical transition between outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) infrastructure . Projects may include hyperscale and cloud infrastructure, advanced manufacturing and semiconductor facilities, research and technology campuses, telecommunications facilities, mission-critical environments, and other large-scale, technology-intensive programs. The successful candidate will understand the complete physical connectivity path, from the point where outside plant infrastructure enters a facility through telecommunications and distribution spaces to the passive interface with network and technology equipment. This role requires a practical understanding of how fiber infrastructure is planned, designed, coordinated, installed, tested, documented, and maintained . The engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary design teams to develop soluti
