Fire Protection Engineering Intern Remote | Hybrid option: Melbourne, FL, Ellicott City, MD, or Pittsburgh, PA Hourly Range: $25.00 Estimated start date: May 3, 2027 Estimated end date: July 30, 2027 Position Summary The Fire Protection Engineering Intern (FPEI) will support the Fire Protection Engineering team, and provide designs, insight into and input on new, current, and ongoing projects. Fire Protection Engineering Interns will contribute to and support fire suppression, fire alarm, and life safety design efforts for the firm. The FPEI shall be in the process of obtaining a bachelor’s or master’s degree in fire protection engineering from an ABET accredited institution. This individual shall directly contribute to the Firm and its success through the development of knowledge and technical experience to effectively produce a quality design and ultimate product for the customer. The FPEI shall execute design duties as required to ensure quality is always maintained. Responsibilities Review applicable building and fire codes where the project is located. Create CAD drawings and calculations under supervision for fire suppression, fire alarm, and life safety portions of projects. With direction, be able to develop and implement design criteria and system designs from concept to construction, in line with company procedures, government regulations, and client criteria.
